Benjamin Aina QC is a barrister at Thomas Bingham Chambers. Benjamin's now has a mixed practice focusing on serious crime (including murder and commercial fraud), personal injury, contractual disputes, action against the police and judicial review. A member of the Cayman Islands Bar, between 2008 and 2010, Benjamin was a special adviser to the Governor of the Cayman Islands on Constutional matters. He regularly appears in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) both for the prosecution and defence. Before taking silk in 2009, Benjamin was Standing Counsel to the Revenue and Customs Prosecutions Office, a Grade 4 Prosecutor on the South Eastern and Midland Circuits and he was on the Crown Prosecution Service's Rape Specialist list. Benjamin graduated in Law from the University of London (UCL) with an LLM in 1986 and was called to the Bar in 1987. He was previously a Law lecturer.
