Chris de Pury is a partner and head of the Real Estate Group at the leading City law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP). 

Chris has a wealth of multi-disciplinary experience within the real estate market, both nationally and internationally. In the past two years he has led his teams on some £4 billion worth of structured sales and purchases of major UK property portfolios and acted on a number of high-profile overseas property investments. He also has extensive experience of large UK and overseas developments, having advised private equity funds and companies on the formation of funds and joint ventures, and has acted on some major corporate acquisitions, including the aborted £10 billion bid for Sainsbury’s by the Qatari investment group, Delta Two.

Highly rated for real estate work, Chambers & Partners states that clients and peers describe him as "very responsive, commercial and practical". In 2015 he was rated in Band 1 for London (Firms), Real Estate. Chris was also in The Lawyer Hot 100 twice – in 2008 and 2013 - in the Real Estate category. He trained at Herbert Smith Freehills (then Herbert Smith), qualifying in 1992 and becoming a partner there in 2002. He joined BLP as a partner in January 2008 and became head of the Real Estate Group in 2013.

Chris was educated at Christ Church, University of Oxford.
