Funmi Adegbeyeni is Managing Counsel, Global Aviation and UK fuels at the oil giant, BP. She leads the legal teams for BP’s aviation business which operates in 50 countries, as well as its UK Fuels business which is responsible for 1,200 BP branded service stations across the UK. She is also responsible for managing the legal support to BP’s global business services, which operates standardized business services for the BP Group.

Prior to joining BP, Funmi worked for Bombardier Transportation, the Montreal based train manufacturer where she held various positions in the UK, Germany and South Africa, working in procurement, project management, commercial and legal roles. Just  before relocating back to the UK to join BP in 2011, she was the Head of Contracts and Commercial for Bombardier South Africa.

Funmi trained as a Barrister. She read Law at St Catharine’s College, University of Cambridge and was Called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 2004. She is a trustee of Vinspired, a youth charity that helps young people in England and Wales discover the value of volunteering.  She also sits on BP’s Global Legal Diversity & Inclusion committee and supports a number of mentoring and coaching initiatives within and outside BP.
