Razi Shah

Razi Shah is a partner at Windsor law firm Appleby Shaw since 2003 and is also a partner at Ainsley Harris, a criminal Legal Aid firm in High Wycombe. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Civil) in 2009. He made history within the Law Society in 2006 when he became the first, and so far only, ethnic minority council member elected from a geographical constituency - Berkshire and North Hampshire. Razi is the immediate past President of the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire (BB&O) Law Society and is a committee member of the Hampshire Law Society. He is the Chair of the Law Society’s Scrutiny and Performance Review Committee and is also on the QC Appointments Selection Panel. He was appointed as an Adjudicator on the Institute of Chartered Accountants Compensation Scheme in 2009 and is a trustee of the charity Serving Humanity.  His practice focus is on Crime, Immigration and Public Law and he has been a Higher Court Advocate since 2004. Razi, who was admitted as a solicitor in 2007, has won many accoIades, including  the Solicitor Advocate of the Year in the Law Society Excellence Awards in October 2010 and the Against All Odds award at the Minority Lawyers’ Conference awards.
